Beautiful with Differences:We Celebrated April 23rd with Our Children with Down Syndrome
Each child brings a completely different color to the world.
Some with their joy, some with their love, and some with the unique beauty of their perspective on the world...
April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children's Day; gains meaning not only with games, songs and celebrations, but also with hope for a future full of equality, inclusiveness and love.
As Samixir, we were very happy and proud to celebrate this special day this year with our children with down syndrome, hosted by Gastro Academy.
The first minutes of the day started with a cupcake decoration workshop. While little hands were working with colorful creams, not only sugar but also joy was mixed in the air in the kitchen.
Then we moved on to the milkshake decoration workshop with cool flavors coming out of Samixir beverage machines. Little chefs who got acquainted with natural beverages combined their tastes with their creativity and created unforgettable flavors.
The freshness of orange juice, the freshness of lemonade and the sweet joy of milkshakes added energy and happiness to the day. These flavors not only cooled us down; they also revived the children's self-confidence and the joy of producing together.
What we felt the most during this event was the power of being together.
Down syndrome is a difference; and every difference develops, becomes stronger and sheds light on society when it is met with understanding.
Creating spaces where children can express themselves freely and seeing them as equal members of society is our responsibility.
